Mirage

Lake Mead National Recreation Area, Clark County, Nevada view map

The vast reservoir that is Lake Mead seems oddly out of place in the stark Mojave Desert of southern Nevada.
Dappled sunlight strikes a far mountain range, adding to the surreality of the setting.

A perfect title as the small strip of land and the shoreline appear to be floating. Wonderful deals, lighting and soft colors in this beautiful capture. Voted

Does look a bit surreal Sam. Lovely image though with nice soft colors.

A softened look at a harsh place! The colors are so lovely together, for me, that's what makes this image great.

Lovely capture of this harsh high desert. The last of the light on the distant peaks is a lovely touch. The lake adds to the strangeness of the place. Vote.

What a scene! I didn't realize there was a reservoir in the middle of the Mojave. Well captured with excellent light. V.
