A shot of one of the three arms of the Very Large Array in the "B" configuration.
The back row of 9 dish radio antennae spans about four miles in this image.
and that's not as far as as they can put each radio receiver. Having them in this close
makes for a much more photographic scene.

The last time I visited here a couple of years back, the antennae were all parked straight
up because of a stupid government shutdown due to a budget impasse. I got to go
into the visitor center for some souvenirs (other than photos) this time around.
