Desert Spiny Lizard

Tucson, AZ

Sceloporus magister

The fellow we are in the process of habituating to become our new outdoor "pet".
The red around the mouth and the little streak on the rock is from Saguaro cactus
fruit that has fallen from a nearby cactus. Desert Spiny lizards seem to like that as a snack.

Click on the image below for a larger view of my daughter in the habituation process:

Canon EOS 7D ,Canon EF 300mm f/4L IS USM ,1.4x TCIII
1/80s f/8.0 at 420.0mm iso400 full exif

other sizes: small medium original auto
