Holding Ubehebe Crater

Death Valley National Park view map

Trying to be a bit creative in capturing the view from on top of Ubehebe volcanic crater.
I would have preferred to not have been holding the crystal ball, but did not trust setting
this up on the edge of the crater. Plus, I am holding onto this a bit weirdly because I
quickly learned that you do not want to have any body parts on the side of the crystal ball
opposite the Sun --- this thing does an extremely effective job of focusing the sunlight into
an intense focal point that will burn you very quickly. That lesson most likely resulted from
bad Karma gathered during my youth with a magnifying glass and ants.

Another fantastic capture using the crystal ball, the composition with the edge of the rim as the focal point is superb. Brilliant work Sam! V

Kind of like that building in London that melted parts of a car. I think you're being more than a bit creative with the crystal. V

Cool shot Sam, you lined this up very well. Did not think about the "dangers" of the crystal ball until I read your caption.
