Avra Valley Lightning

Tucson, AZ

This is a tighter crop of an earlier image. As with all shots, how
one composes the final perspective can create a different impact.
The earlier post (below) with a wider FOV was ok, but only makes
my B list because the bolt is not as prominent as with this image. There
are still enough sunset elements in the tighter crop to still have interest.

The tight crop enhances the view of the lightning and still gives plenty of foreground. "V"

They're both excellent - I'd take either one since we don't get many lightning storms here.

I like both the cactus in the main foto doesn't distract too much..:>ote
globalgadabout26-Aug-2013 05:52
well yes, a bit more kick to the tighter crop, sharper emphasis on the animated lightning bolt, and a closer look at the deluxe sunset...I miss the awestruck cactus though..
Guest 26-Aug-2013 05:09
excellent!
Guest 26-Aug-2013 05:05
I see what you mean. This one does have more impact when the bolt fills the frame like this.
