A small Brown Water Snake (Nerodia taxispilota) came to visit the pond today. He was after the small minnows. I hope he doesn't grow too fast. He can only eat the smallest minnows now. The minnows eat the microsopic bugs. The frogs eat the bigger bugs and small snakes. The snake eats the small minnows and the small frogs. And the birds eat everybody!
The 'in pond' shots were taken after dark with a flashlight. The camera's exposure was set to 1/2s @ f5. No flash.
