Quebec's 400 year history involves religion, politics and entrepreneurs. Their architectural legacy can be seen throughout the province. Many treasures have been preserved and restored. What is most interesting to me is the juxtaposition of the very old classic architecture mixed with high tech super modern buildings side by side. Same for public art works. It works! Congratulations to the citizens and their represetatives who voted out "boring" as one of the choices. More urban centres, especially in North America, should pay attention to lively cities like Montreal and Quebec City and avoid the "safe" status quo and design/planning by committee and the average Joe.
