Classic example of "If you get lemons, make lemonade". I had a long list of projects to photograph from the air for my clients. Just after take-off from Calgary International, the air traffic control folks had to cancel our city flight due to a staff shortage. However I have always thought that the badlands of Drumheller would be spectacular from the air ... and I wasn't disappointed! In fact, we could have not picked a better day (or year) to do this flight. A record amount of spring rain had turned this almost desert environment into a lush green garden, intermixed with the unique canyons and hoodoos of the badlands. Kind of like taking the greens of Ireland with the deserts of Arizona ... spectacular and very rare.
