09-05-10 - Chasing Windmills

In energy rich Alberta, seeing massive wind farms is a dichotomy. The clean electrical power generated by these behemouths replaces some of the power generated by fossil fuel facilities. The City of Calgary's "C-Train" rapid transit system is run entirely on this wind generated power ... I believe the only transit system in the world that does so. An amazing feat for a city that is home to most of the oil company head offices in Canada.
