Traditionally, Lantern Festival (the 15th day of Lunar New Year) marks the end of Chinese New Year celebrations. Bombing the Dancing Lion in the Lantern Festival is a tradition in the Deqing County, the west side of Guangdong Province, China. Throwing firecrackers at the dancing lions is believed to bring good luck and to pray for prosperity in the coming year.
