17 hardy souls made the effort and braved the conditions (21C and ankle deep water).

A small group of people from Taihoa have taken on the job of monitoring 8 GoodNature stoat/rat traps for the Orongorongo Club on behalf of the Rimutaka Forest Park Trust. These are part of an extensive program to reduce the predation on kiwi who have extended their range across the river from Turere Stream where they were released in 2008. Traps are serviced approx 2 monthly. Included are photo's of the group transporting replacement rafters (jump rails)
