A small work party on a good weekend.
Interesting in that it shows the results of the then recent introduction of both the Kakariki (Yellow crowned Parakeet) and North Island Robin with presumably the original introduced birds - with bands.
The Shore Plover were also present in good numbers.
Also shows the concrete gannets in their fresh paint and the weed sprayed site for them on the western escarpment.
From my recent visits to the island I did not see many takahe - they moved away fast. Not like Julia being accosted here.
