The first was held on the 23-26th November 2012. Thanks to James Porritt, who along with friends had transported the materials up the river and lugged them up to Taihoa. We were sleeping at Waerenga Hut so Taihoa was clear for major maintenance, cleaning and painting. Not all work was completed on this trip and further work parties were planned. Thanks to Terry and Glennis for some of the shots.

9th December. Phillip, Ian G, Ian L and Allan worked on the back wall - finished replacing the corrugated iron and rodent proofing the gap between the bottom plate and the ground.

26th January 2013. Phillip, Penny, Chris C,Ian G, Ian L, Allan, and Glennis finished the back wall (almost) cleaned the inside, painted the inside of the back wall and some of the ceiling, reinstated the colour strips that run along the top of the wall under the eaves. The hut is now looking quite spick and span.
16-17 Feb. Terry and Philip came in by 4wd + trailer. Most of the old iron went out on the Orongorongo Club's metal collection. James did a great job installing new shelving in the kitchen area. Philip and Ian G built a temporary outdoor table for the 50th. Other jobs done were finishing painting the front and back walls, replacing the back wall of the woodshed with iron off the back of the hut, repairing some of the holes in the ceiling lining, sorting and carrying out all the rubbish to go out in the trailer, trimming the track down to the river. Other people there were Jill G, Penny, Glennis and Allan, Ron and Kate.
