I tried out my Nikon D700 in the studio just taking a few pictures of myself. The camera is definitely better than my Fujifilm S5, though the pictures it produces are not. I've just gotta learn to limit the light dynamics to a very small range so that the limited Dynamic Range can handle it. With the Fujifilm photography was easy. It is such a forgiving camera. Not the Nikon.
