Sopwith Camel (High Detail)

This Sopwith Camel model was built in Maya 2011. The skin represents the aircraft flown by Maj. William G.Barker in Villaverla, Italy, in late 1918. As you can see I put a lot of detail into what is under the skin as well.

By the way, all models I build are done with Autodesk Maya.

Hi guys. Thanks for the comments. I worked on a flight sim project at one time but the program didn't end up going anywhere. Right now I work as an animator with a small team out of Ogden, UT. The plans for deciphering the Sopwith were freely available through Internet sources. Windsock Publications helped as well (Windsock Datafile 26). Of course lots of photos of original and restored aircraft can be found online as well. Also Model Airways has created a nice model kit for the Camel that basically concerns itself with what I did here (the Model Airways build instructions can be found online). I'll be rebuilding the external skin and then it will be finished. My real pride and joy is the B-17 interior I'm currently building. That should really be nice when finished.
