Physiograms

Eight of these seventeen images were made by taking a small maglite flashlight and hanging it from a 1 meter string attached to the ceiling of my parent's house. The camera itself sat on its back about 1 meter below the light. I would then set the flashlight moving. After about 1 minute or longer I would then put something over the top of the lens and then change the filter on the light to a different color. Once I started movement of the light again I would allow the exposure to continue once again. The shutter tended to be open for 2.5 to 3 minutes for each exposure. Obviously these were taken at night with all the lights off. Aperture was set to 22.

The other four images were taken by hanging my iPhone by a string and setting it in motion.
