The settlement of Iosepa was established in part as a community of Hawaiian members of the LDS (Mormon) faith who wanted to be closer to the headquarters of the church as well as the temples. Life was harsh for the settlers due to extreme weather and the Hawaiians returned back to Hawaii around 1917 when a temple was built there.
Story Rock is located about a mile from the Iosepa cemetary. Images include whales, turtles, boats, and other things important to the memory of the Hawaiian settlers.
