These are all DIGITAL images of bald eagles at Starved Rock State Park and along the Mississippi River in Illinois. The eagles can be found along the Illinois River and Mississippi Rivers for a few weeks in the coldest part of winter when the water further North is frozen over. The open water from the dams and locks lets them catch fish. If you have never seen an eagle on the wing, it's worth the trip. Photographically, it's challenging. I used Canon 300mm and 100-400mm zoom lens to capture the different shots. It is difficult shooting because the birds move very fast!
Wear warm clothes because it's cold, windy and a long way from the car!
