Two artist/creative friends of mine, Danny Heller and Jim Dorsey, have encouraged me to submit a portfolio for consideration to the Los Angeles County Museum of Art's Rental and Sales Gallery program.

Danny's paintings celebrate mid-20th century architecture in suburban Southern California. Jim is an explorer, author, and photographer who has traveled extensively in 35 countries. I also want to acknowledge Steve Kossack, professional photographer and my landcape photography sensei, whose workshops have given me the opportunity to photograph in these amazing locations.

These images comprise the portfolio I will be submiting to LACMA. Per LACMA's selection process the portfolio is of work done within the past 2 years. Since I worked extensively in the Southwest in 2008 and 2009, these images are of Arizona and Utah redrock country.

I understand the selection process can take up to six months, so when I have news I will let everyone know.

UPDATE 2/4/10: I just received a letter from the gallery manager of the LACMA Art Rental Gallery. Unfortunately, my portfolio was not accepted: "we are unable to offer you a place in one of our exhibitions at this time." Onward and upward and I'll keep trying.
