Here's the original image and the processed image. In the original you can see the elements which caused me to take the photograph. But you also see a lot of distracting things as well, like the road and buildings in the background.

The filter effects direct the eye towards the flower, whereas the original photograph has too much detail which causes the eye to wonder round the frame with out a focal point.
