When I first started writing this, I was going to go the art criticism route: with an allusion to Plato's Allegory of the Cave, or, perhaps, discussing the historic connection to Man Ray's early 20th century Ray-o-grams.
The simple fact is, I like these images because they evoke the essence of these objects without the handicap of being literal representations. The potentiality rather than reality. Latent images instead of finished photographs. The moment before you take the picture as your mind's eye sees the composition.
