This is a special edition of IMAGEination, rounding up my favorite images of 2012.

All 4 of my active camera systems are accounted for (iPhone 4s, Canon G10, Fujifilm X-Pro 1 and Canon 1DS2). But the interesting thing is how often iPhone 4s images appear in this gallery -- more than any other camera.

2012 has been an exciting time for me photographically. iPhoneography is the big story. I almost always carry this smartphone with me, and this has allowed me to catch some unexpected moments I might not have put to image in the past.

Another change is my recent explorations with urban and street photography, trying to tell stories with still frames of the fleeting tableaux of human interactions.

Landscape still remains a favorite subject, but I may not have as many opportunities to record the wonders of "terra lumina" as in prior years. But I have a rich body of past work to revisit and refine.

2013 promises to be another exciting year as I continue to explore our world with cameras in hand.
