After 40 years in this sport, a picture with
most of the fleet arriving at the start line together.
The boat closest in the for-ground was over the start line early
and per the rules had to go around the end marker and restart.
The end marker is seen as the round ball which is very close to
boat #77. The other end of the start line can be seen as another
ball visible thru the sail of boat #42.
The boat in the far left background seems to have elected to let
all the other boats start. At times this can be a good move
to avoid penalty points for rule infractions for right of
way in case of one boat touching another.
This picture is from a regional championship event for the
AC Class of the American Model Yacht Association. The rules
followed for such sailing events are the same as for full size boats.
