This is a no-tripod solution for Pano's
The idea is from a web site at
http://www.philohome.com/tripod/shooting
This is my rendition for the c-8080wz. It uses a highly
altered Johnson Heavy Duty Post Level and a Plum-Bob weight.
Notice how I have cut away areas of the Johnson
level on this side and added a hole/tripod screw.
The cutouts make it easier to hold. In the next
picture you will see a cutout on the other side
to clear for the LCD and the camera controls.
In this picture,is a line held to the camera
between the removable threaded ring and the
lens body. This location is very near the
Nodal Point of the lens on this camera. This
info is from

I used Spectra fishing line, a line fastener
from my model aircraft box and a "Bowsie"
from my model sailboat box. (the white part
with the three holes in it. This allows height adjustment).
To use, clip the line with the "Plum-bob" weight
to the line that is about the lens, adjust the height
of the plumb-bob so that it just clears the ground.
Mark this spot on the ground.
Like all pano shots, follow the normal procedures for
the camera setup. (AEL) Frame and adjust for your first
picture, use the level.Take a shot and then rotate to overlap
for your next shot but keep the plumb-bob over your spot and
use the level.Repeat for as many pictures as required.
