The Ubud Monkey Forest is in Bali, Indonesia. As I understand it, spiritually, monkeys are held in high regard by the Balinese. They are offered protection in this park/sanctuary. As many Balinese and tourists visit the sanctuary the monkeys are quite familiar with and unafraid of people. In fact they can be quite aggressive in their desire you provide them some food. There are a number of banana vendors on site where you can purchase a bunch of bananas for a small cost to feed the monkeys. Once purchased, and with bananas in hand, you will quickly gather a collection of monkeys around you eager to be your friend and of course feed (or else!).
