Home Base on the Beach
Sue and Dave got the girls for a weekend on the beach. This is the beach where the little sanctuary is that I take care of for the audubon society. We found plenty of sun and lots of wind. Thank goodness we brought the little tent. The photos don't show the 15mph wind.
Bundled Up
A little cold and a little windy, but still fun on the beach.
Our Little Camp Across the Water
The little red camp across the water was our home for the night. The sanctuary sits next to a small beach community of beach houses. Several are available for rent. Sue and I like this one for quick get aways. Maddie was always ready for a walk to look for bones.
Coyote Bone
This was one of the big finds. We figured it must be a coyote bone.
Sunset View from the Deck
After baths, we had fun watching the sun set. The wind was from the east, and we were looking west. So the deck was nice sheltered view.
Watching the Sun Set
We had the highest porch around. The view was really nice.
Supper Time
Fortunately we had lots to eat other than the frozen pizza. The little camp is brand new and well equipped. There was nice TV for the LSU game.
Early Morning Walk
Someone was ready for another walk in search of treasures at first light.
Talking to the Sandcrabs
Lots of sand crab holes. Many got a good morning visit as Maddie found their holes. She would talk to them as she redecorated their front door.
Big Find
The coconut was up near to top of the list of treasures found on the walk.
Maddie and Two Nuts
Here is the early morning search team with one of the big find.
Buried
Maddie decided she needed to bury herself in the sand. Guess who decided they had to do it too. They may need baths later. The rope on the log kept the tent from blowing away. The wind blew for two days.
