That's a job I probably wouldn't enjoy much. I was glad to be in the shade when taking this series of shots. The mere thought of wearing a dust mask in that heat makes my face itch.

I took quite a few shots with varying composition, mostly tighter than this. A few more are in the California gallery ("San Francisco and some Mountains" / "Dry land"). It was hard to choose one for the Image By Chance gallery! I chose this one because it somehow seems to provide the most context, and because of the texture of the earth, but it's not necessarily the most striking.

Gonna agree with you! Tough job indeed. But I like the contrast, the lines and the texture. Would prefer a closer take or a tighter crop though.
