This picture begs for a story. I just don't know what it is. After hiking down a steep rocky trail (see the next picture) for 20 minutes, I came out onto a beautiful black sand beach at the mouth of the Pololu Valley. I noticed a large whitish object on the beach. When I approached it, I realized it was a large stone wheel, about 4 feet in diameter and 12 inches thick. How it came to be on this beach is a mystery. There were no roads down to there. It had to have weighed a tremendous amount. The sand was perfectly smooth around it and the picture makes it look like the moon (with PVC in the center!)
