We rented a kayak and paddled across this bay to Captain Cook's Memorial. The water was a little rough, but it was a beautifull color of blue. Clear, like Crater Lake, but not as deep a blue. Not surprising because the water isn't as deep. Once we got to the memorial, it was a challenge to land on the rocky beach with the surging waves, but we managed it all right. The grounds around the memorial must be "Mongoose Central". There were so many mongeese(?) around, it was a challenge not to step on them. I was afraid to take my camera on the boat, so I had to settle for this long shot across the bay. The white obelisk on the right side is the memorial.
