Young Cheeky Fox….
As winter changed to Spring the family were busy in and out of our garden and on the 12th April Leggy returned
.was so happy to see him again as I was quite worried about him
He is quite mischievous and I caught him trying to run of with some gardening tools one day
but I think the challenge was too much and they were too heavy for him
I grow begonia in hanging baskets and each day I put them on the low stone wall to get sunlight all day
.hanging them up again in the evening
I forgot one day and when I went to hang them the following day Leggy had chewed all the hangers off
luckily I had more to replace them
.and didnt leave them on the wall overnight again
he usually did these mischievous things when hungry
we really enjoyed their visits each evening but little did we know what was brewing with the neighbors
..to be continued
.
On Friday last week when Peter came home from work he said he saw Cheeky waiting near the feeding place and when she saw his car ran towards our house and was waiting for him when he arrived home a few minutes later
He was amazed but I had been saying for weeks they look out for his car and come quickly to the garden as they know shortly we would be going to feed them
Cheeky waited for us and escorted us to the feeding location having a few dog treats on the way

Young Cheeky Fox
As I cropped the photo I enlarged it and enhanced it in Topax photo AI…
In Topax fx labs I added Daily Texture…Tranqil start and Hiding in the grass…I applied this one 10 times moving the texture each time to get the grass how I wanted it…the last time I put the whole texture over my image and masked away where I didn’t want it…
Topaz Lens effects…single tone and a hint of diffusion….
Cheeky was painted in the Procreate app on my iPad Pro….with Jai’s smooth paint brush and Linda’s hair brush….
Cheeky Fox….
As we got into February Leggy suddenly disappeared and Cheeky and Clippy were constant visitors every day for dinner
sometimes accompanied by Mamma and Baby
who were both a little nervous
.They spent a lot of the time in the garden playing, sleeping and eating
most amusing to watch and as the daylight hours started getting longer I started to take photos and videos through the kitchen window
.
Each evening when we took Charlie and Jack for their last evening walk one or two of them would wait at the gate and go with us
.they walked just a meter behind and every time Charlie and Jack got a treat they would sit and wait for one too
of course they were always included
.then they would come back home with us and if it wasnt raining they would settle in the garden for a sleep

My artwork…
Added Daily Texture A touch of flowers in Topaz fx labs
Painted Cheeky in the Procreate app on my iPad Pro…
Clippy Fox….
One of my first of many foxy artworks
I have two big white plant pots the same and Leggy claimed one and Clippy the other
They often came together to our garden and you could tell they were family
We think Leggy is the Dad
but not absolutely sure
Dad fox plays a big roll in bringing up the cubs and is often seen with them whilst Mamma has a rest
At first we put the food out in dishes but every morning the dishes were gone along with the food
it seems they take the food that remains in the dish and the dish home to their den to feed the cubs in the den
so had to just put it on the wall in a heap as the neighbors wouldnt like everywhere cluttered with dishes
.Along the front of the courtyard garden we have a raised flower bed that they would relax on eagerly looking in the kitchen window to see if food was on the way
.Soon they were coming right up to the door as soon as it was opened and came quite close as I distributed the food
They didnt mind Charlie or Jack either and our dogs didnt even bark at them
To be continued

The fox family
Our fox encounters started simply by leaving a black garbage back by the steps in our front garden one freezing January evening
When Peter opened the blind the following morning there was garbage everywhere
..we had seen foxes in the neighborhood for the 27 years we have lived here but never in our garden before
We decided to leave a small meal of dog food out and see if it was eaten
.Of course it was so the next night we left it again but peeped round the blind and sure enough a beautiful fox was eating it
after a few nights we lifted the blind up and one fox had a badly injured front leg and we didnt think he would be able to hunt and decided to feed him every evening a small support meal
After a few evenings he brought his family
also hungry souls
.This was how we met Leggy
.we named the family of five
Mamma, Clippy because he had a bit clipped out of one ear
Cheeky
and Baby
.Of course they became regular visitors in the evening and sometimes Leggy would come in the morning for a snack
They were such fun to watch, better than TV and entertained us each night
But Leggy was the most regular and claimed a huge plant pot we have as his own resting place

My artwork is of Leggy
he is the most photographed one
.I painted him in the Procreate app on my iPad Pro
In Topaz fx labs I applied a Daily Texture winter background, the tree stump was from one of my photos
added a grass texture to the foreground and then placed Leggy on the tree Stump
