Paloma Park,Spain....The angry swan!

Enjoying a day out at Paloma Park...
Taking shots here and there.....
I couldnt believe my eyes when i saw this happening...
The swan looked like it was trying to drown the goose....
So i tried to record the event with images....
Happy to say the goose survived its ordeal and carried on as if nothing had happened!

Coming in to land...	Almost there...	Whats happening?
The swan doesnt look too happy.....	Still ruffled...	Preening might change the mood...
What did the swan see?	An angry charge at the geese!	Feathers are flying....
Will the goose escape?	Getting closer to the goose!	The chase goes on...
Guess where the goose is?	The goose cannot be seen...	Now you see the goose...
Again the goose is under water!	The goose managed to come up for some air!	The goose attempts to escape!
It manages to get onto the small island with the swan in hot pursuit!	The swan continues to attack!	The poor goose is captured again...
The trauma goes on...	What a to do!	The swan has upset the entire bird population on the small island!
The white geese try to escape from the swan...	Where is the swan?	Here is the swan attacking the goose AGAIN!
The white goose cannot stop the swan from putting the goose underwater again...	At this point I was really worried about the poor goose!	The white goose tells the swan exactly what it thinks!
What happened next?	The swan still has ruffled feathers...	Happy that the goose survived its ordeal and the swan goes on its way!
Calming down...	Time for contemplation of its oh so bad behavior.....

Excellent series of images Patricia. I have seen this sort of behaviour from a swan before especially breeding time. She probably had her nest nearby.

What an amazing gallery recording animal behavior. I know that swans can be extremely aggressive. However I never considered a swan would attack a goose for no apparent reason. That swan certainly was after the one goose and didn't want to give up. I wonder if things like this happen very often. Great job of recording the event!!!

You certainly witnessed an extraordinary event. The swan is territorial and probably had a nest nearby. Perhaps the goose was young as the white goose seemed to behave like a parent trying to protect its young. Well captured action. Voted.

Superb captures of swan behaviour. Like a lot of birds (almost all birds), they will defend their nest, their territory, their young, their location. Of course, geese do this too! Fantastic sequence of images and wonderfully shot. You had to be fast!!! ~V~V~

I viewed this in the slide show mode, great story telling by you with images to back it up I knew swans would give human a hard time but evidently they will try to kick anyones but if they get to close. Excllent gallery and it is a story for sure. Vote

What an amazing sequence, i didn't even realise a goose could dive under when faced with danger, or did the swan force it under. Great that you have managed to capture the whole stork.

What a story, looks like someone needs a lesson in manners. I have heard that swans can be ill tempered. Is it because they cannot talk things over? A fantastic series, so interesting!1 VVV

I certainly hope the locals treated you and yours better while visiting Spain ;-) I've been chased by geese, parrots and swans; but none have been able to hold me under water yet!
