In this Dina Wakely Media Journal I am doing an exercise where you take two colors plus black and white acrylic paint and mix up the colors to see what a variation you can get…Then using mixed colors and original do an abstract art work on.the opposite page…
Inspired by Denise Love with her YouTube videos..this is such a fun and satisfying exercise and there are many pages in the ledger to fill…

Color mixing and abstract art…

We have many pages to fill in this ledger and each is such fun to do…color mixing is surprising and educational…

Using on most of the art are stencils and mark making…always surprised to see how the artwork develops as there is no particular plan in mind…This was a little different as Denise is so lucky to be able to buy such wonderful stencils in the States…..I loved her stencil so decided to copy it freehand as best I could…Happy with the out come and I am sure I will enjoy my journey through this Ledger…

I can totally relate to cold mixing and the power an image can taken due to colors. I often work with complimentary colors and mixed hues working towards neutral hues in an effort to unite an image with through color and of course values. Amazon.com in the US had numerous preprinted ledgers allowing setting up scales for values, compliments and other color theory combinations. Love seeing what you are working on. VV
