The pool on Jerome and 168th(?) Street was called "Cascades" in the '50s and 60s until it changed names to "Palm Beach Pool" in the 70's I think. It was great for the people like me in the neighborhood. You could see it as you passed quickly by on the IRT subway train going uptown.
I recall well Mullaly park and the Mullaly pool in the adjoining playground between Jerome and River Avenues and 165th-166 Streets. I went wading in that kiddie pool and changed into my swim trunks in the gym lockers next door when I was all of 6 or 7 years old.
It all seems like yesterday.

Grew up at 1702 Clay Avenue in 50's went to P.S.70 and Taft High School. When I want to feel content and happy I always reminice back to the Bronx. What a great simple life. Still trying to find old friends from the block. Nice site you have built!!!

I lived at 1465/69 Jesup Ave,until my dad died. He was the super (Rudy) after that lived at 65 Jesup Place. Married Dorothy Moss from same address. She had a sister Kathy, was married at Sacret Heart Church. Actully went to school there then DWC. My 2 children were born in Jewish M. Hospital in upper Manhattan. They were Baptised at Sacret Heart. But with the area changing we moved to New Jersey, i've only been back 2 times and will not go back again to many good times back then.
