"The departure of our boys to foreign parts with the ever-present possibility that they might never return, taught the real value of photography to every father and mother. To many a mother the photograph of her boy in his country's uniform was the one never-failing consolation." ~Louis Fabian Bachrach
Pictures by my dad or his friends. He served in the US Army and was at Pearl Harbor during the Japanese attack and remained stationed there until the war ended.
These negatives sat for a lot of years and the cameras of the day were not wonderful (at least his), so many of these images are of poor quality. I added them anyway as I think they still give a glance into life then. Adding these photos will be an ongoing project as I get time to scan them. I don't have time to do any restoration except minor clean up, so one again, they are presented for history sake and not image quality.

These soldiers are true heroes! I am always interesting in the history of World War II. Thank you for sharing.
Hope your dad doing well from his knee surgery.
