Everyone who used to live here and moved out of the
White Castle market area always wants to go here when
they come back to visit.
Started in 1921 in Kansas, White Castle is only in the
midwest of the USA except New York. They have small,
square hamburgers with holes in them that are steamed
with onions. Locals called them "sliders" because they
were small and greasy and slid down your throat and because
the Brits had already used the word "greasies" for their
fish and chips so we couldn't use that. In their normal
marketing savvy, they took the word, changed the spelling
to trademark it, and put it in there advertising as if they
slid down easy because of taste instead of grease.
They are cheap and popular- especially after a night
of drinking- as they are also open 24 hours ;-)
