For a critter that's so beautiful they can sure ruin your day, if you run into a bunch at once! Growing up in Conn we'd have nests of them living in our lawn. My dad would find one entrance hole, then take an empty qtr/ltr bottle, filled with cheap motor oil and put it in the hole, neck first. Next, us kids would have to wait in the yard(s), looking for a bunch of angry yellow jackets coming out of other holes! That when it got interesting and when we'd get stung! We'd have to put flat rocks or plates over some holes and oil bottles in others. The idea was to kill them all but some would get out and be really mad!

Nice shot Roy, do you clip the diffusers over the top of the flash heads when you use it? I've got the same flash head, just learning how to use it best.
Thanks,
Alan Kearney

They are quite nasty - hope you got away safely. Well captured, every hair is visible.

Excellent colors and detail but unfortunately they also like beer or a coke.
