SENECA STING DEFEAT VIKINGS
Vikings handed third consecutive loss by Seneca Sting


(Kingston, ON) The SLC men's basketball team battled hard on Saturday November 8th against the visiting Seneca College Sting, but was unable to capitalize in the final few minutes of the game, falling 81-73.

It was a strong opening quarter for the Vikings, with both teams exchanging the lead three times before the second quarter. That's when the wheels came off the rails for the Vikings, as they were outscored 18-9 in the quarter.

SLC had a strong second half, coming within just three points of tying the game. But the Sting defense held strong and did not allow the Vikings to capitalize during the final few minutes of the game.

Second year player, Donald Gibson, led the way for the Vikings finishing just one rebound shy of a double-double, with 16 points and 9 rebounds.

With the loss, the Vikings record drops to 1-3 and are in a four-way tie for seventh overall in the OCAA East Division with La Cite, Loyalist, and Canadore College. SLC will need to record important victories this week at home, as they host Loyalist on Wednesday November 12th at 8:00pm, and Canadore College on Saturday November 15th at 6:00pm.
