2013 SLC SNOWBOWL
(Kingston, ON) Every year, St. Lawrence College (SLC) hosts a full-day touch football competition for students and staff from all three campuses. The only twist is that it's played outdoor, in January, and in the snow. This year proved especially challenging for the teams with a light dusting of snow on the field, making for slippery conditions, and the daytime high temperature of -11C without the wind-chill.

Despite the conditions, players would compete in three games before entering playoffs, all in an effort for bragging rights and for the grand prize of a $250 gift card to Kelsey's. During day several St. Lawrence College Athletics & Recreation swag including hoodies, t-shirts, hats, and Sippy Cups were awarded. As a special prize, two tickets to see The Tragically Hip at the KRC on February 4th were won by SLC-Kingston student Trevor Phillips.



“It was great to see such a positive turnout from the students. From the students that I spoke with, everyone really enjoyed themselves and had a great time” said Athletics Director, Herb Steacy. “I'd like to thank the Athletics staff and gym supervisors for all their help in planning and arranging this great annual St. Lawrence College tradition.”

Congratulations to this year's winners from the Kingston campus, Team Blue, Rachel Barrette, Hailey Perreault, Seb Lamarche, Taylor Watson, Kyle David Barkhouse, Nick Del-Mei, Ellni Dekaneas, and Taylor Webb.
