This tourney is part of Kingston's winter festival Feb Fest and celebrates hockey in Kingston going back to the 1800s. The participants were Queen's,The RCHA from CFB Petawawa and, RMC who has now won three straight.
The Rules are a little different from hockey as we know it today. For instance, there is no forward passing, no checking, the goalies must remain on their feet, the puck is square and, those gentlemen in the white coats are not from the local asylum but the goal judges and referee, who is the one with the bell instead of a whistle.
Up until last year the contest was held on the frozen harbour but is now held on our new artificial ice rink. This event is opened by our World Champion Town Crier, Chris Whyman and these images are from the first half of the first game which RMC won by a score of 3-2.
