Murney Tower 09239_filtered copy.jpg

Kingston, Ontario, Canada, a UNESCO World Heritage Destination

All the meals prepared for the people living in the Tower were prepared here. Most of the cooking was done in two large iron pots which were set into the stove. Steam, from the simmering soups and stews, was recycled through pipes and condensed to produce hot water. The hot water was produced from the small tap at the back of the stove. A variety of other cooking pots were also used.
Two auxiliary heating stoves were located near the carronade ports.
