The Prince George Hotel 07340 copy.jpg

Kingston, Ontario, Canada, a UNESCO World Heritage Destination view map

Near as I can gather this property has a definite phoenix quality to it. At the turn of the 19th century the first buildings were constructed on this site. At some point they were destroyed by fire and in the late 1840s the first two stories of the present building were erected to a William Coverdale design. In 1892 William Newlands remodeled after yet another fire, adding the third floor and tower unifying the whole as we know it today. In 2003 still another fire damaged the upper two floors. At this point the "The PG" ceased to be a hotel as luxury loft apartments were created in the damaged space, but the first floor pubs still carry on in time honoured tradition.

Lovely light and tones in this capture. A stately hotel, looks like a great place to stay. V
