When Thanet District Council decided to build a shopping centre 3 miles from Margate they were adamant that it would not have an adverse effect on the trade in Margate.
The upper two shots are of Westwood Cross on 28th December, the two lower shots are of Margate looking towards the largaest department store remaining in the town.
The Margate shots were taken on the 27th December, lunchtime with the sales in full swing!!!!

All that remains of Margate town centre are struggling businesses & closed (or closing down) shops.
