Hi Whitney,
Great Gray Owls are north of Opal (Opal Rd and Township Roads 590 and 592); usually involves driving along miles of range roads and hope for luck. In Edmonton proper, the Alberta Grain Terminal for Gyrfalcon and Prairie Falcon; Hawrelak Park for winter finches (redpolls, siskins, pine grosbeaks); Whitemud Ravine trail for boreal chickadees and, if lucky, black-backed woodpeckers and barred owls.

I'm new to PBase and just found your bird galleries. They are really wonderful. Great work. Thanks for sharing

Willi,

I enjoyed your recent gallery very much. Although my level of expertise is nowhere near yours, it appears we have similar bird interests. You are fortunate to be living in an area of such diverse nature and landscape. I visit Montana (my family) two or three times a year and will always include the 2nd week of June and 3rd week of September. I'm sure you know why.

Thanks for sharing your photos. I will re-visit often.

Enjoyed your recent photos of all the birds. The waxwings are something that I rarely see here, and they were in the bushes wher I couldn't get great photos like you got. I thought the close-ups were nice, and that one of them all over the tree was amazing and unusual too. Anyway, view my Anole Lizard Habitat in the Great Smoky Mountains, accidentially created it. Hi Willi

Such beautiful work you've posted for us all to enjoy. Thanks for that, and for rescuing me today. Birders are a good lot, I told my daughter. No birder would not help me. :)
