This day was an interesting day which for the most part was just filled with random fuckups, with mine being the first for the day. Apparently, i slept through my alarm, and hadn't requested for Will or anyone to watch my back and check up on me. This resulted in a phone call at 5:29 in the morning, as well as me rushing out the door and forgetting my Trou on my chair.

Anyway, after rerigging the boats and eating all the free food our wonderful program provided for us, boats started moving out onto the tire dock (super el-ghetto?) and mannnn the conditions were simply squalid. The water was muddy and flowing downstream hella fast. There were a million fishermen out, just clogging up the course, and absolutely evil speed boats were just zipping back and forth. Watching boats come in, was something like... a reserve soldier watching one's bloodied and shell shocked comrades returning from an intense firefight ala B.H.D... Reading the personal recounts by some Special Forces pilots from that incident nearly decade ago in Somalia, i sort of got the gut feeling of dread and anticipation. Because i had neglected to bring a change of clothes, i was already planning on what outer layers to leave behind so i wouldn't freeze my ass to death. But at 11 AM, after our fours had launched, our coaches announced their decision to pull our of the Regetta because of the shitty conditions.

One Dock. Fast flowing river. Over crowded course. Winds and wakes...
