They lowered the lake level at Flathead Lake MT to allow for the spring run off. Even though its a natural lake, it does have a dam on the south end. The Flathead, Stillwater and Swan River all empty into the lake. The lake bottom here is like sawdust as there use to be a lumber mill and train tracks out on peers to load the train cars or barges.
