Campfire Dusk to Dark

PARRISH, Fla. - Les McDowell is a stickler for detail... which is a good thing when you're re-creating a bygone era.
"It's always been a passion of mine, the western," said the producer/director/creator of "Dry Creek." That's a place -- and a television series.

"It's almost like 'build it and they will come,'" he said. "I started doing a western set just thinking I was going to do my cowboy poetry (which he has been performing since his days in radio at Tampa's WQYK and WFUS). "And then all of a sudden I said why not shoot a longer thing and little longer thing?"
Les says that the latest episode -- called "The Bully" will be airing within the month on In Country Television. It's one of 14 new shows slated for the fall season. And he couldn't be more excited that his historical vision, more Mayberry than the Dodge City is finally coming to fruition.
