Greetings Everyone,

I was back at the Great Egret rookery this week and they were still busy building nests.

Most sticks gathered are thin and light but strong. This guy decided to grab a relatively large, waterlogged branch which slowed him down a bit as he rose from the water. When he made his turn my way *BAM* I got him.

The really cool green area near his bill is called the lore. This bright green coloration only occurs during the breeding season.
