El Parque Alameda is a large and relaxing green space at the juncture of the old and new city. Its eastern side is just above Rua Pombal, where the Hostal Alfonso is located.
If you need more stimulus, it's only a few meters from the many sidewalk cafes on one end, and the Internet cafes of Avenida Rosalía de Castro on the other side.
