Elena Grossman, I do not have the information on the Hotel Imperador you request. It seems more of an event salon, for parties and celebrations, than a place to get some rest. It is very easy to find, being located on the populated "town" side of the lagoons which are fed by the springs.

Alfega, I have heard that the restaurant of the Villa Montaña, above Morelia in Santa María, is by far the best. It has a beautiful view of the city from the terrace. It's slightly formal at night, jacket suggested for gentlemen. It's also in the Expensive category

Love your website. The food looks so delicious. Would it be possibe to come and take some lessons from you. I have been thinking about doing more travelling and what a great way to just take off every now and then and see a new place and explore the regional food and maybe learn how to prepare it. Dolly

We made our first visit to Mexico, and to Morelia last year. My Spanish speaking wife ordered all the food, and I just got to eat it. Now I can attach names to some of the dishes we enjoyed. Your photo of the pastry mice is a big hit in our IT department. We will be revisiting Morelia in January '06.
