Lucy Loes
This bust is a tribute to Lucy Loes, the uncrowned queen of the fishing song.
Lucy Loes was in 1928 at the Visserskaai (Ostend) born as Lucienne Vanbesien. Known numbers (expressed in the dialect of Ostend!) Are: "It is finished with the fat madam" - "With us at the sea" and "My first love" and "My sea captain" becomes in 2000 a real hit!
